Player-first design
Every system exists to serve the fun. If a mechanic can’t justify itself in one sentence, it goes.
Nova Interactive is a forty-person studio obsessed with atmosphere — hand-drawn worlds, cinematic light, and stories that keep talking to you long after the credits roll.
We start every project with a single feeling — the hush before a storm, the ache of a place you can’t return to — and then we build a world around it. Systems, sound and art all answer to that one feeling.
Nothing ships until it earns its place. That is slower, and it is the only way we know how to work.
How we work
Every system exists to serve the fun. If a mechanic can’t justify itself in one sentence, it goes.
Worlds drawn by hand and lit like film — a frame from a Nova game should be unmistakable.
Easy to pick up, generous to master. Full remapping, scalable text and no forced reflexes.
Our roadmaps are shaped in public. We are unreasonably proud of our patch notes.
Nova make games the way great cinematographers make films — every frame is a decision, and every decision is felt.

Fourteen new dwellings, a restored aquarium district and a full photo mode — free for everyone who owns the game.
How we designed a world where the map is the puzzle — from napkin sketch to playable archipelago.
Join the Lisboa team and give our worlds their voice. Remote-friendly, crunch-free, kettle always on.
Dev diaries, early builds and the occasional soundtrack demo — one letter a month, no noise.
